2025 Trade Deadline

The first week is over and home teams won five games with a couple of home underdogs picking up wins outright, so TD Mayka only came in at 50% with the week 1 picks.

The week was highlight by the poor showing of the defending champs, who could only score 29-points on their way to an opening day lost. The Edge were playing what many believe is a weak Ryder team. Their poor game was only surpassed by the Hurricanes, who could only muster 26-points vs division rival, the Stags who started off the year with a convincing victory. This is the lowest opening day score for the Canes in the long history of this once proud franchise and a team that will need to make changes to even complete in the high scoring Sugarloaf division.

Other highlights of week one included surprise wins by the Bovine and River Rats, but who could have predicted a rookie running back would go for 51-points to lead the Rats to an upset victory in the highest scoring game of the week or that the Bovine team would come back with a late field goal to squeak by the Silver Cats in the game of the week. The Gasmasters edged the Titans by 4-points with a nice 4th quarter comeback in the only other close game of the week, as the Fruit Loops, Seahorses and Jammers all went on to easy wins.

I only had 4 wins week 1, so extra time is needed to evaluate this weeks games, butĀ theĀ betting lines for week 2 should be posted by the end of the day.
